Friends of Colleton County Animal Shelter Continues to Improve the Lives of Animals

Rescue Expert Blog

Friends of Colleton County Animal Shelter (FoCCAS) has been serving the Walterboro, South Carolina area since 2009, providing loving care to animals who have yet to find their forever homes. FoCCAS is a 501 (3)c non-profit organization that relies primarily on donations and volunteers to care for animals in need. They are also a part of the Million Cat Challenge and are devoted to providing care and treatment to felines.

Rescue Disinfectants will help us help the dogs and cats in our facility by providing a clean and healthy environment. Clean and healthy equals happy, not only for our furry friends but for our employees and volunteers. Colleton county is a rural community, we don’t have the funds that some other shelters may be fortunate enough to have. Rescue Disinfectants would not only help us keep our facility clean and healthy, it would afford us the opportunity to use some of our cash flow on medical treatments or food. Please help us help our community. Thank you.- Hannah

I’m a rescue partner out of New Jersey who currently works with Colleton County shelter. Over the past 1.5 years I have seen so many changes. Where they are now, compared to where they where then, is nothing short than remarkable. The volunteers at this shelter work their butts off to give so many homeless animals a second chance. They are so deserving of this opportunity!!– Kristin

Monetary donations are heavily relied upon as they go towards the purchase of essential products such as bedding and food, and contribute towards covering the cost of medical treatments for animals in need. Donations of products such as soap, cat litter, leashes, blankets and so forth are also welcomed as well!

Volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that each animal is well cared for and given the opportunity to have a full and healthy life. Volunteers go as far as to provide socialization, grooming, cleaning, and administrative services, just to name a few.

We have an awesome shelter!!! The Colleton County shelter just hired a new Executive Director. In just a very short time…..she has taken the shelter to a whole new level. Rescue Disinfectants can help our shelter to be a top rated shelter in South Carolina! Thanks for this opportunity. And thanks for all you do for our furry friends! -Gregory

We were blown away by the wonderful testimonies, images, and reviews that were sent to us through the #RescueMyShelter

Campaign. FoCCAS is passionate about helping animals live life to the fullest, no matter their background or current health.

Colleton is the shelter in a poor rural area. Against all odds they save as many animals as they possibly can. The staff and volunteers have such heart for saving these babies. This program would save funds that would normally be used to go towards the medical treatment of animals in need.- Nakia

We were so excited to be able to provide Friends of Colleton County Animal Shelter with our #RescueMyShelter kit!

The #RescueMyShelter kit includes;

  • 1 – 30-gallon drum of Rescue® Concentrate Disinfectant
  • 1 – Drum pump
  • 1 – 1-gallon bottle of PeroxiWash™ Shampoo
  • 12  Canisters of Rescue® Ready-to-Use Wipes

It is wonderful to know that FoCCAS has already made the switch to Rescue Disinfectants to improve the overall environment for their furry residents. We hope that our #RescueMyShelter kit will help to continue to create a safe environment for pets and volunteers, and allow them to allocate donations to purchase other items that they may need!

Colleton County Animal Shelter is working hard to improve the quality of care for all animals at our shelter. Until recently we were using a chemical to clean our cat enclosures that we found is harmful to cats and are changing to Rescue for cleaning in our cat areas. The dual detergent/disinfectant quality cuts down on cleaning time and we are already seeing quicker resolutions to upper respiratory infections and a reduction in outbreaks. Help us to help our cats and if we win, we could switch for our dogs too!- Laura
