As an organization whose mission is to teach others how to overcome hardships and find second chances, it is no surprise that Tails of Courage is our most recent monthly winner of the Rescue My Shelter contest.
Founded in 2009, by a survivor of the World Trade Center attacks in New York City on September 11 2001, Tails of Courage is a rescue that adheres to their mission by designing animal based programs that focus on veterans, seniors, and children to name a few. They believe that “rescue is about helping people just as much as it is about helping animals” and that at the end of the day “everyone can be a hero in their own way by [being able to adopt]” – Darcell Sullivan, Tails of Courage – Adoption Coordinator.
With programs like Heroic Paws that allow members of the military community adopt homeless adult dogs at no cost, Tails of Courage is setting an exceptional example of being dedicated to community service and how it can also help the animals in their care find forever homes.
By being a member of the Million Cat Challenge, Tails of Courage played a part in helping the campaign meet their goal designed to save one million cats from being euthanized in North America. This shows their dedication towards finding solutions that ensure the right care for the cats they rescue, and you can truly tell that they place extreme importance on their animals, not only through their programs, but also through an enjoyable shelter experience.
As this month’s winner of #RescueMyShelter, we are extremely excited to be able to provide Tails of Courage with a winner’s kit of:
1 – 30-gallon drum of Rescue® Concentrate Disinfectant
1 – Drum pump
1 – 1-gallon bottle of PeroxiWash™ Shampoo
12 – Canisters of Rescue® Ready-to-Use Wipes
We hope that by providing this kit, even as a previous Rescue® Disinfectant user, they will be able to dedicate more of their resources to continuously fending for the animals in their care; and we are thrilled to be able to contribute to a pleasant and sanitary shelter experience for the animals.
If you know of a shelter who could benefit from using Rescue® Disinfectants, nominate them to receive a #RescueMyShelter kit today!
